In February 2017 a community meeting was held and a Committee was formed with a mandate to consider how the

nuisance factor of the alien plants could be removed.

Committee members included media and communication specialists, politicians, technical experts, finance and

marketing representatives and legal professionals.

083 640 7717 / fjbotha@icon.co.za Academic Representative to TUT Lectured on integrated monitoring at water management Course on the Hartbeespoort Dam case study Awarded in 2016 a Master of Science degree in Environmental Sciences with a dissertation on "Nutrient reduction options in the catchments of the Hartbeespoort Dam to reduce in-dam eutrophication" (with distinction). Part time lecturer in CEM for short courses in Environmental Management in various modules including consulting to Senior management on Business implications of Environmental risk management.  

Johann Breytenbach

084 525 7406 / johann@cluster5.co.za Academic & Liason with Government Department Studied both social and environmental sciences at Pretoria University. I started my working career as a game ranger, was head of the Saasveld Forestry Research Centre and headed up the conservation programme in the CSIR’s Forestek division. Established and ran the Corporate Technology for Development Programme at the CSIR and since 1997 was a Director in several companies all focused on sustainable development.  

Dennis de Jongh

082 658 2224 / dennisdj@vodamail.co.za Officially represents Lakeland & Auditor Age 56, lives at Lakeland, Hartbeespoortdam. Profession is a Chartered Accountant in Public Practice. Studied at University of Witwatersrand. Married to Janette with two daughters, Hannah and Sarah. Loves to water-ski and represents the National Team at international competitions annually. Hence his interest in the dam is motivated for his sport and that of being a resident in the area.

Rudy Joles

083 551 4969 / joles@acornfoundation.org.za The official NPC & BBBEE and CSI partner Rudy Joles born in the Free State has a passion for people and the environment. With a strong horticultural background, managerial skills and ability to bring communities and people together he has managed to bring many sustainable projects to life. He believes in a collective partnership and will always and everywhere involve as many role-players as possible to ensure the best possible end-result. Hartbeespoort is a place with so much potential and we will make sure to capitalize on all potential to the benefit of the community.

Casper Kruger

083 315 8707 / fisheries@absamail.co.za Fish & Water Expert Casper Jan Hendrik Kruger grew up in Hartbeespoort area where he still resides, and owns Fisheries HBP and Co-owns Fisherman’s deck. Casper has a love and passion for nature and animals. Casper helps to develop and implement various eco-systems around South Africa. His training as a young man included training, capturing and saving wild and endangered animals.   Casper works closely with Nature Conservation, and gives lectures to many of our national university’s about fish and eco systems.

Jacquie Pastor

083 326 6218 / jacquie.pastor@gmail.com Represent the KKRA from Kosmos Jacquie Pastor, representing the KRRA and Kosmos residents. An environmental practitioner by training, with broad business-related experience. A positive and enthusiastic member of the team who assists with the fund raising, marketing and awareness creation aspects as well as fulfilling the role of Secretary on the Committee.

Graeme Peplar

082 342 2140 / graeme@smartenergy-sa.co.za CHAIR PERSON Represents Oewerklub, the Ward Committee of ward 33 After completing his articles at an accounting firm in the early 90’s he pursued a career in the property industry. Having acquired experience in various businesses Graeme is currently involved in residential property development, primarily in Hartebeespoort, where he has been residing for the past 20 years.   Being a community representative, he is involved in various community based organizations and serves on the National Executive Board of a national NPO. He has served as a Ward Councilor in local government at Madibeng covering two terms in office representing Hartebeespoort. He currently serves on the Ward Committee of Ward 33 in Hartebeespoort. Graeme is a skilled NLP practitioner and Life Coach and interacts with people to improve lives and bring about positive environmental change.
